Students launch cupcake business

Students will launch their own cupcake making business later this month and are putting the finishing touches to their product.

The cakes, pictured here, will be available in three different flavours and you can also personalise cupcakes with your own message or picture too. See and students at work preparing them.

‘It took us a few weeks to develop our skills but now we know them well,’ says Hang Lee, one of a group of students who will give up time in breaks and after school to meet demand. ‘Hopefully people will enjoy our cakes!’

Student Mame Darko agress. ‘All our cakes are freshly made to order. I like the idea we are running our own business and also that the business is doing things to help other people.’

Profits from the social enterprise will be used to support local charities and good causes.

Cupcakes will be on sale at the academy’s social enterprise website .
